A Flag That I Made

In Hebrew class, our teacher Morah Liat is teaching us about flags. We learned about what the colors in the flags represent. I learned what colors represent in flags. Colors  can represent happiness, sadness and freedom.  These are the colors and images I used for my flag. I chose the color black because sometimes I feel sad. I chose blue because blue makes me feel calm and happy. I chose yellow because yellow reminds me of the beach and I love going to the beach and go in the ocean. I chose orange because I love the Florida Gators and love to eat oranges. That is why I chose that stuff on my flag I hope you enjoy my flag.

Jamestown And Digital World

Today there are so many ways to document send a message or any that. In Jamestown they did not have IPhones, IPads, MacBooks, etc. They would sometimes have to wait months for a message. As you read I will compare Jamestown and the digital world.

Documenting In Jamestown

To be able to document in Jamestown you have to be a great writer and be patient because you will have to wait a bit til the person who you sent it to will write back. If you want to become a messenger you will have a fast horse like the ones who win the Kentucky Derby. You would probably have to wait between 1-2 months for the person to write back. Also, get your ink pen and write things down that are important.

Documenting in the Digital World

Now in the digital world there are so many ways to document things. Email someone something important.

Go on todays meet  it is a chat room. we used it last year when guest came to our class. That was our way of documenting. Another is google drive because google drive is used for documenting most of the time. On iphones and ipads, there is a app that comes with it called notes. It is used for taking notes.

Roanoke Reflection

Finally, after all the hard work and months it took to finish this ebook about Roanoke we are finally done. I can now call this ebook completed. It was a very long process because it took most of the school year to finish it. At the beginning of year when we first you Digo to gather information about Roanoke. Mrs. Hallet (our librayian who helped us a lot) and our teacher Mrs. Zavon. After that, we wrote a paragraph about our part. After that we put it in the ebook. Our ebook will be availible on iTunes soon for free, please red it.

Book Review

This story takes place at a boarding school in California called PCA (Pacific Coast Academy), and at a beach. The main characters are Zoey Brooks, Dustin Brooks, Quinn Pensky, Dana Cruz, Chase Matthews, Michael Barrett, Logan Reese, and Nicole Bristow, and Dean Rivers.  It is the end of the first semester at PCA, everyone is finishing up their finale exams. Chase tells Zoey that today after everyone has finished their exam, their will be buses coming to take all the students to PCA’s annual beach party. Zoey, Chase, Logan, Dana, Michael, and Nicole are talking in a classroom. Dustin walks in, he asked, “Can I ride on their bus.” The  kids say yes.  After the kids say yes, Quinn walks in with one of her Quinnventions. A Quinnvention is a invention by Quinn. Since her name is Quinn, and she likes to invent things, she decided to name it Quinnvention. This time, her Quinnvention that Quinn made was a thing that smells like coconut. Since she finished her final exams early, she made a Quinnvention. Everyone smelled the sent, everyone fell asleep. It was 11:45 a.m., and the finale bus leaves at 12:00 p.m. Michael was the first to wake up he woke up everyone but Dustin because it did not wear off yet. They hurried as fast as they could go but they missed the finale bus. Logan calls a taxi to pick them up he says Mistic Beach is 56 north of PCA. The taxi driver drives them to a beach. It was not Mistic Beach. None of any other PCA students or facalty people were there.  Where did everyone go? Are they stranded can they get out? Read the book Zoey 101 Beach Party to find out all answers. I highly recommend this book for people who like comedy and action because it is funny and filled with action.

The Battles Of Negba

Breaking News, We are live here at Negba where a battle just ended. Now lets see the story of negba. It is just a normal day on June 2,1948 at kibbutz Negba. All of a sudden, the people at Negba see Egyptian planes, tanks, and soldiers walking. What do the people of Negba do?
I’ll tell you what they did. They decided to fight back against the Egyptians. The people of negba moved the entire kibbutz under ground. The weapons that the people had were 80 rifles, 200 hand grenades, 500 molotiv cocktails, 20 submachine guns, and 8 machine guns. The results from the first attack were mated by Israel at 100 killed and wounded.
The second battle happened 1 month and ten days later. The battle was still the same people battling. the Egypitians, this time wanted to surround Negba. The people of Negba fought hard again. The results of the second battle were Israel estimated Egyptian losses at 300 killed and wounded. The Israeli casualties were 5 killed and 16 wounded. Unbelievable, Israel wins. Everyone is Israel is happy.

Houston Houston We Had Fun At The Kennedy Space Center

Have you ever wanted to go to space? Well if the answer is yes, you will have to go on a mission to the Kennedy Space Center. Your mission is to go on the field trip with the fourth and fifth graders of MJGDS to the Kennedy Space Center. Hop aboard the flight to Kennedy Space Center. Lift of and 5,4,3,2,1, blast off.

The first part of the trip was the bus ride. We road on the American Coach. The American coach is a charter bus company. I sat with Elior. Elior and I played on my iPhone 4S and my IPad 2. We had a contest on Doodle Jump. Then we watched some Jaguars highlights and some movies. After that we listened to the song We Are Jaguars. By doing all of that the time past. Before we knew it we were at the Kennedy Space Center.

Next we just arrived at the Kennedy Space Center. All the kids could not wait to get off the bus. Once we arrived, we had to wait 15 minutes because the teachers had to go get the tickets. Yay, we are finally inside the Kennedy Space Center. The first thing we did is check in. The next thing was that we walked so we could get on the tour bus. We got on the tour bus and we watched a video. We watched four different videos and the tour guide paused the videos because he wanted to us stuff. He showed us where NASA makes space shuttles. He told us that the building is the largest one story building ever built in the world. Keep on going your mission is not done yet.

Next, we stopped at this place. There was a big door, we waited 5-10 minutes for the door to open. When the door opened, we walked in the room and watched a movie. The movie was about the space race between the USA and Russia. We watched a video about the space race. After the video, we went to the control room and watched another video. The video was about more of the space race. I learned that the space race was not just the moon landing it was about other missions. Some missions failed, others did not. Speaking of missions, your mission is not done yet.

After we watched and learned about the space race, we were back on the tour bus to a museum. The museum was filled with spacecrafts, from the space race. They had shuttles, newspapers articles, and the car that the astronauts ride in when they are about to be arriving at the space launch. When they arrive, they go this thing and walk into the spacecraft. We saw a gift shop. I bought a plasma lamp, and a flashlight. After that we got back on the tour bus. We headed back for the entrants of the Kennedy Space Center. Hope you are OK, but hang in there, your mission is still the same.

We headed into the Kennedy Space Center so excited. The first when we headed in was seatlunch. Lunch was fun and windy. When we were eating lunch, the wind was blowing a lot so our containers of trash blew on the ground. They were birds so, they were eating food that dropped on the floor. We threw a little food on the ground and see which food was eaten. There was a cheez-it and vegetables. The bird wanted the vegetable and ate it. We were laughing and wondering why did the bird want the vegetable and not the Cheez it. Lunch was over. There was a movie that was about to start. My group I did not want to go to the movie.

After lunch, we decided to go to the rocket garden. The rocket garden had this big huge playground. In the rocket garden, we played tag. In tag I was it. There were only four people playing tag; Elior, Itamar, Benjamin and me. Tag was fun because you got to run around in this huge area. We played tag for like 7 minutes. After tag we were tired a little, but we wanted to got to Angry Birds Space Exhibit.  (no subject) - zachary.s@mjgds.org - Martin J. Gottlieb Day School Mail-1

We were heading to Angry Birds Space, wondering what would be in there. We walked in and we couldn’t believe it with our own eyes. There was a live Angry Birds game. Here is how to play. There are two teams blue and red. There is a big catapult, you put one of the Angry Birds stuffed animals on the catapult. Pull it back, but when you pull it you can only take two steps back, and let go. There are these board things with a red color bird or a blue color bird. When you hit it, there is a sound. If you throw the bird and you get caught you will be out. I was in line then I decided to go into the mirror maze with Elior and Benjamin. Elior and Benjamin were trying to run away from me. Something happened when I was could not feel my self. After that I waited then I played the live Angry Birds. After that, we decided to go with the girls on the space simulator.

The simulator was fun. After that we played a huge game of tag with a lot of people.

The things I enjoyed were The playground (aka rocket garden), Angry Birds space, the control room, and the museum. All the places that I mentioned were my favorite places at the Kennedy Space Center. The stuff that I learned was that the space station is as wide as  two football fields, which is 220 yards if counting the endzones. Without counting the endzones, it would be 200 yards  The hubble needs refurbishing often. At the bus tour the tour guy said that at NASA,  there are 1300 hidden cameras. ET detaches from spaceship. A rocket ship is bigger than 2 statue of liberty. The hubble takes pictures of stars and solar systems forming. The largest hand painted American flag, which is at NASA. NASA building is largest one story building in the world. That is everything that I learned at the Kennedy Space Center.

On the bus ride back, this time I sat with Itamar. We watched a video called NFL Follies. NFL follies are NFL bloopers by players. We also made a video with Elior, Jagger, and Noah. The video was a humorous video about the trip. I am happy to say that your mission is completed.

Did I Pass My Goals?

At the beginning of school, we made a qr code of 5 goals that we wanted to accomplish. At the first SLC which was back in November, I set some goals for Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Hebrew.  My teachers and I wrote goals for the nine weeks. I had different goals for the different subjects. As I said I did goals for Language Arts, Math, and Hebrew. I have other goals too. My other goals are Academics, Behavior, and Homework.  In behavior  I have a problem laughing at the inappropiate time. So, I made a goal that I will try my hardest not to laugh. For homework I sometimes did not do it so I made a goal that I will make sure I would do my homework. My goals for language arts were to read more often. Reading is a huge part of school.  I have not always been a good reader. So, I made a goal that I would read more often. Another goal from Language Arts is, correct punctuation. Sometimes when I write, I forget to put the correct punctuation in the blog post. My biggest goal is to make honor roll. I want hnor roll so I am trying my hardest to make honor roll. That is  my biggest goal. I think that I passed all my goals.

Math Artifact

This is my artifact for math. My artifact that I chose for math is a math test on division by a 2 digit whole number. One of the reasons why I chose a math test is because, I felt like I understood how to divide by a 2 digit whole number. The test in my own opinion was easy because I studied ahead of time. Like I said before the price for studying ahead of time means that if you study than you are going to do well on a test. That is what happened to me.
