Black and Yellow

Black and Yellow

By: Sarah C.

If I was a bee I would buzz in the sky

I can see and hear what everyone is doing

If I ever have to sting anyone I would sadly die

I am black and yellow

I live in a hive just over the green grass

My hive has over 10,000 bees living in it

There is a tree nearby and all the birds sing when on it

I once went out and saw the most prettiest flower ever

It was pink and yellow

and it had the most nectar I’ve seen

I’m a bee and you know it

Silver Days

There was a club for Jewish immigrants from Germany. So Mother and Father joined it. One day a boy or shall I say man came to the door. I answered it and he sad ” Hello, he said, smiling. I’m Will Alexander.” (Levitin, 1989, p. 123) He was tall and handsome and I can’t even think of any more words to describe him except for amazing.

All the time he would come over to my house with his car and wash it. Since he didn’t have any water at his house. I waited almost all day to see when he was going to come. After I won the talent show he invited me to go with him, my sister, and his friends out. We went to a diner and I had a strawberry sundae with a butterscotch topping. A lot of people got the same thing as me. After that we dance and Will danced with my sister. I hoped that he was going to ask me to dance but he didn’t. Although we didn’t dance I still can’t wait to see him again. Go to my Shelfari to see the rest of my review

Disabilities and Horrors

I read a story article about a boy named Mohammed who had a disability and his arms and legs were amputated. This article says that he lives at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital. He lives with his grandfather. His parents abandoned him. The father said that he was ashamed of his son and threatened to leave his wife for a new wife if she didn’t come with him.

He lives in Gaza and doesn’t have a home. he has to live in the hospital. This might be because his father and mother are cousins. This seems to be causing a problem in Gaza because the disease will always stay in the family and will never go away. 40 percent of people in Gaza don’t go to school. This is a problem that needs to be solved soon or more people can get diseases and disabilities from relatives. Mohammed story should be told to everyone.

Fashion Fopa

For my language arts class we had to make editorial cartoons. I made one about how some people when they go to the red carpets or Grammy awards they wear inappropriate things. I showed you how some celebrities can enhance there outfits in a way that it appropriate.

Ring, Ding, Dong

Ring, Ding, Dong

By: Sarah C.

When I hear that bing

I know that’s my ring

Then I get up and see who it is.

When I see that it’s blocked

I just start to get locked

On who it could be

When I see it’s number

I just start to wonder

Then I go to bed

I wake up again

And the numbers in my head

On who it could be

I don’t like getting voicemails

And I don’t like giving voicemails

You’ve never cracked

So how could you get whacked

That I never loved you

I couldn’t see living a day without you

And I bet you couldn’t live a day without me

“The heavens are G-d’s Heavens, but their earth was given to Human Kind”

cookiehe2What the verse “The heavens are G-d’s Heavens, but their earth was given to Human Kind” means to me that heaven belongs to G-d and the earth belongs to us humans. It’s kind of like a present. G-d gave us the Earth like people give presents. So say that it was your birthday and your parents got you a dog. It would be yours and you get to control all of it and no one else.

I also think of it another way. Like it’s 50/50. It’s like a cookie that you are going to split with your friend. You get one half and your friend get’s the other. G-d get’s to control the heavens. While we get to control the Earth.

Heads Up Chapter Challenge

For my Chapter Challenge I chose card #7 heads up. For heads up you make hats with definitions of what it is and then the person tries to guess what the answer is. For mine I made hats from scratch that seemed like it took me forever. When I was done the hats looked like party hats except much wider. In the end my chapter challenge turned out to be not to bad but I sure could have done better by being on time and followed the rubric exactly.

Math, Math, and More Math!

For a project in math class we made a video on how to make a circumference. We used an app on the iPad called Explain Everything. Explain Everything was a very good app because you could undo parts that you made a mistake on without having to redo everything. I liked this project because we got to use Ipads in math and we usually don’t. Also we got to put our creativity into what we did. Explain Everything is not only for math, but for any subject.

This is the link to my video. EE_Movie_011513-1329.mp4

My Newspaper

Instead of putting a summary of our book on Shelfari we made a newspaper. I made my Newspaper on a book called Dear Levi.

G-d and I

On 3-1-13 we did a mitzvah at Dignity U Wear. We folded and checked for dirty marks on so many shirts. When we pray in the morning we sing the bracha: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, מַלְבִּישׁ עֲרֻמִּים. Blessed are you o Lord our God who clothes the naked. G-d and I worked together on this because I also helped people be able to wear clothes on themselves.

I helped them by sorting clothes. Even though the some of the shirts may have been damaged they still were ok to wear. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what style or design is on your shirt. What matters is that it gives you something to put on your back. I liked doing this mitzvah project and can’t wait to do it again.

This is the website to the place I went to. http://www.dignityuwear.org/
