Today, Mrs. Tolisano taught us what hyper linking is. A hyper- link is when you make a link, but instead of it being the website, it has different words. Sort of like a title. Here is a website that has a post about hyper linking. It is on Mrs. Tolisano’s blog. It is a very descriptive post. Here is an image of a hyper-link.
The black arrow is pointing to the typing area where you type the title of what you want to the title of the link to be. This is an experiment post that includes hyper linking. It is on paper because we wanted to understand what we were doing. Here is an image of it.

On the 4th grade individual blogs, we embedded a Clustr Map.
A Clustr Map is a world map on your blog, that shows you the location of the visitors of your blog. The map helps me visualize where my readers are from. My class and I have been surfing the virtual globe to countries all around the world, such as Thailand, Switzerland, and Czech Republic, because we know that they have read our posts.
Pretty superb post “huh”? Have you ever used a hyper link before? Is this an excellent example using hyper links? Here is a little advice, USE HYPER LINKS! They are the most important thing for a post. Bye!
Becca,
Outstanding! You explained Hyper Links translucently and presented excellent examples of their use. Writing out the post you want to create so that you can see it and work to create it is a method that has always served me well. By writing out your thought you can see where to insert hyper links so that the document can be more easily browsed or navigated. A hyper link should have an anchor, this is the location in the document from where the hyper link may be followed. Pop Pop Stan remembers many, many years ago when he learned that something is a hyper link when my mouse pointer changes to a pointing finger. The first time this happened to me I was so excited as a new image appeared. Today I better understand that hyper linking is part of my daily routine of browsing the Web.
Yes, use hyper links, they are very important when we post. LOVE You and what you are learning. Pop Pop Stan
Pop Pop Stan,
Thank you for the excellent comment. I also appreciate that you brought up a memory. What I like about bringing up memories is that others that check out my blog will find it very interesting. Plus, they will get to know more about you. Just like when you did those comments that my class used as examples. I encourage you to continue bringing up memories not just on my blog, but maybe in person.
Rebecca
Rebecca,
I totally agree, but I want to add one more thing. They ARE one of the most important things in your blog post, but why? I believe it’s the most important quality to add to your blog post, because if you are doing a written assignment , you can’t add in a link. No matter how many times you try to click on a word to pull up where it is linked to it won’t work. That’s how important I feel about using hyperlinks. Now that I have shared with you why I think hyper linking is important, you share with me; why is hyperlinking important to YOU?
Jamie
To me, hyper-linking is important because if you used a big word and you don’t know what it means, then just make it a hyper-link. That makes life a lot easier. Thanks!
