Pollution is a Big Problem!

Pollution is a big problem in the world. I mean big, huge, gigantic! Pollution causes bad and toxic smells which people inhale through their nostrils. Also, areas in the world were so pretty until people came in and replaced it with buildings so high and pipes down underground. I mean, some buildings are okay, but when it gets too out of hand, it’s definitely not okay. Places around the world are so polluted, that they are even polluting the ocean! The ocean is full of marine life, and we don’t even stop to think about the little things to appreciate. Like how we can do many things and have lots of wildlife. We should come up with solutions to stop pollutions. Here are some ideas:

  1. Recycle a lot
  2. Don’t throw trash on the ground
  3. If you see trash on the ground, pick it up
  4. Do not waste perfectly useful and good things
  5. Make a democracy to stop pollution!

You can come up with your own rules to prevent pollution. Pollution, you just crossed the line!

    Nahila,
Thank you for posting this and for thinking about and caring about pollution. I like your ideas. This is a BIG problem. It’s easy to forget that we are all dependent upon the earth for all of our needs, but it is up to each one of us to think about how our actions affect the planet we call home.
Even though it seems like one person isn’t enough to make a difference, if everyone cared and was willing to change, we might be able to make things better. Here are some (small) things I do:
-I use my own, reusable bags when I go to the grocery store or Target.
-I use a reusable coffee cup and a reusable water bottle. Sometimes I do still buy a coffee at Starbucks with one of their plastic cups or buy a plastic water bottle, but I really try not to do that. Plastic is also an unhealthy material for our bodies, so I try to use less plastic (although plastic is EVERYWHERE!).
-I try not to buy a lot of things and especially not to be wasteful and buy things I don’t really need. Then I won’t have to someday throw those things that I didn’t really want or need away. There is no “away” on the earth~!
-I buy cleaning supplies that are made out of less harmful chemicals.

Those are a few of my ideas.
    -Mrs. H
