Journal 24- Helping at Dignity U Wear

Last Friday, for our mitzvah trip, we went to Dignity U Wear. It is a place where poor people can “buy” new clothes for free. We first brought in clothes that we collected, then we sorted some shirts. We had to sort them by being clean or dirty. If the clothes were dirty, they would wash them again or give them to somewhere else. We worked for a long time sorting shirts! But, in the end, I felt pretty good.

There is a verse we say in our morning prayers in school: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, מַלְבִּישׁ עֲרֻמִּים  Blessed are you, Lord our G-d, who clothes the naked. We fulfilled this by- A. Bringing in clothes that we collected. B.Sorting shirts that people could wear. We did a good thing by fulfilling this, and I hope that we can do it again.
