Quad Blogging Experience!

What is Quad blogging? Quad blogging is when there are four classrooms around the world are blogging on each others blogs. The four teams are Team USA (us), Team Thailand, Team Switzerland, and Team Czech Republic. One of my technology teachers would say “Four teams, one mission.” We have done this for 4 weeks. The first there weeks were the other teams blogs that we were supposed to comment on. The fourth week the other teams were commenting on our (fourth grade) blogs. I am going to tell you what I liked and what I learned. Lets get started!

What I cherished about this idea is that we got to communicate with kids from around the world. You should’ve seen my expression when I heard that were going to do quad blogging. I bet my face looked like the most happiest face in the whole world. I admire   everyone’s blog that I saw and commented on. The are marvelous writers! I had this one comment from a girl named Samantha. She is from team Thailand. I got her e-mail and we kept in touch with each other and we are now very good friends. I thought that was very cool!

Did I improve my writing skills? YES! Right before we started working on the quad blogging, we had to choose our best comment that we made this year. My comment was only two sentences long. I was pretty disappointed in myself. Compared to now, that comment was a piece of trash! I have improved my writing and commenting in many ways. Now, my sentences are about 1-2 PARAGRAPHS long. Isn’t that just extraordinary? I agree that it is. It’s not just me who improved my writing and commenting, my whole class improved their writing and commenting. If you ever see their comments (including mine, not to brag), you will be shocked by our writing for fourth graders! It is breath taking, trust me. Thank you technology teachers!

I hope that you learned something about quad blogging. Would you like to do quad blogging? Why?

Great post! I love that your class is not only quad blogging, but really enjoying and benefiting from it! I hope you continue to stay in touch with Samantha and kids you meet from these kinds of experiences.

    Keep blogging!
