A Bond Between Parents and God

Posted by on January 12, 2016

As most of you know, my name is Elior, but did you know what my name actually means? Well, my name means “My God is light” in Hebrew and English. My parents chose my name after my grandma Estelle who I never had the chance to meet. She died in 2000 which is 2 years before I was born. I am proud to carry the name of my grandmother and I like to think that she would be proud of me and everything I have done in my life so far. This name is fitting to me for a few reasons.

The first reason that this name is fitting to me is because I feel that I am connected to light. I’m not talking about the kind of light you can turn on and off. I’m talking about a deeper kind of light, the kind that’s in your soul. I feel that God has put light into my soul and every other soul on this earth. It’s just that some of us don’t realize our potential for light yet, but I do. My name is important because it is like a way for me to remember my grandmother who I never met and it keeps me closer to God. That is why my name creates a bond between me, my parents, and God.

    Elior,
I love your message! You are right that each of us has a light inside of us. it is our job to recognize it and allow it to shine. I am glad that you understand this and seek opportunities to let your light shine!
