Inoccent Prisoners?!

Posted by on February 16, 2014

This weeks journal is about a program called The Aleph Institute. This program is for Jewish prisoners who were in the wrong place at the wrong time and got in trouble for it. The Aleph Institute is a program this is used to empower prisoners and let them know that they also have a future. In this program, you go to a prison and help Jewish prisoners learn more about their religion. I think that this program is very good and the people who do this are doing a great mitzvah. A mitzvah is a commandment that God has told us to follow. I believe in mitzvot and think that they happen everyday all around us even if we are not aware of them. This program is just one of many programs to help innocent prisoners live a better life when they get out of prison. I think doing this is one of the best mitzvot that you can do. Let us hope that in the future, you too can help empower prisoners to turn their life around and not let prison get them down.
