Everyday People Help Everyday Lives

Posted by on February 3, 2014

This week I am doing a mitzvah for a person who helps me even though I don’t see it. I am going to thank the person who cleans my pool through a letter. I am always happy when I ┬ácome home to find a clean pool waiting for me. It leaves a good feeling inside. That is why I would like to thank him. His name is John Adkins, but I have never really seen him in person. I think that when I write to him and he gets the letter, it will warm his heart.

I will be telling him about how grateful I am that he helps my family out by cleaning our pool. It saves us a lot of work and it is a nice thing to do. Also, I have mat his wife before and she seems like a nice person so I am guessing that John is too. It’s just that we don’t notice them very much. That is why I am trying to thank this person. I am doing this to make him feel noticed and know that people are grateful to him. This good deed makes him fell good inside, but it also make me feel good about myself too.

Great choice Elior! Let me know how he responds when you thank him. Don’t get too busy and forget to do it! If you can’t find the time to do it in person (like if he only comes while you are at school) you could write him a note.
