Science and Math Combined

Posted by on October 17, 2013

This week, in math, we were working on scientific notation. Scientific notation actually has nothing to do with science. Scientific notation is where you have a decimal and you move the decimal as many times as it says until you get the answer. Here’s an example.

5.463 x 10 to the fifth

Now you have to move the decimal five times. That is basically what our class was working on the whole week in math. At first, it was boring and hard. Then, I got the hang of scientific notation and it got a lot easier. Math used to be my least favorite subject. Now, I like it a lot more because Mrs. Resnick is a good teacher.
