The Great Injustice

Posted by on January 24, 2013

Anybody here know what the House of Burgessess is? Well, the House of Burgessess was the first assembly of elected representatives  of English colonists in North America. The House of Burgessess was established by the Virginia Company. It’s first meeting was held in Jamestown on July 30, 1619. The first meeting was held in a church on Jamestown Island, Virginia.  One of the reasons why women should be allowed in the House of Burgessess is that women probably had different views than the men and they might have helped Jamestown more. Plus, men usually argue more than women, so if women were in the House of Burgessess, there might not be any bickering. Also, women would know how to take care of Jamestown because they had experience with the housework. This is not the first time women have been done a great injustice. Women were not allowed to vote until Susan B. Anthony came along. They are still not allowed to run for office. If men had just realized that women are just as good as them, Jamestown may have turned out a lot differently. That is the Great Injustice and I hope it does not continue.
