Having a Blast on Winter Break

Posted by on January 8, 2013

This winter break I had a blast. We did so many things that it is hard for me to remember them all of it. I will try my best to remember as much as I can. Here goes nothing!

For the first week of winter break, I just relaxed. I went to Zachary’s house four times and we went to a Ju game along with Itamar, Zachary Rosin, and a neighborhood friend named Blake. At the end of the JU game, me and the other four got to meet Artist Gilmore! Artist Gilmore is a famous basketball that got into the hall of fame. On Friday and Saturday, me and Itamar went to Sabrina’s bat mitzvah. It was a very special occasion. Then on Sunday, my dad, me, Itamar, and Avichai went to the Jaguars game against the Patriots. We got to sit in box seats with our friend Zach. We went to dinner at Zach Mizrahi’s house and it was all meat. After that, me and Itamar had a sleepover at Ethan Levine’s house. On Monday, we started the long drive down to South Florida. The whole time we were just playing on our electronics in the car and falling asleep. When I woke up we were in Boca. Our family went to dinner at a kosher chinese restaurant called Asia. On Tuesday, we met are cousins and just hung out. Me, my mom, and Itamar watched a movie in the hotel room while Avi was going to the Heat game with our dad in honor of Avi’s Birthday. On Wendsday, we hung out in the hotel for a while and then we went to a place called Fun Depot. At Fun Depot, there are arcade games, laser tag, go carts, and more. It was very fun. Then, we went to a place in Boca called Grill Time. Grill Time is a kosher meat place. On Thursday, me Itamar, Avi, and our dad went fishing in Fort Lauderdale. I was the only one in my family that caught a fish and I caught a strawberry grouper. I had to throw it back though because they are endangered and the fish was not big enough. For dinner we went to a kosher Thai, Indian, and Japanese place. On Friday, me and Itamar went shopping with our dad for shabbat. We ate dinner in the hotel. On Saturday, me, Itamar, and our dad went to a synagogue. We had to walk there and it was about four mile there and four miles back. Since we walked to shul with our dad, we got rewarded with ice cream after shabbat. We went ton see the Hobbit on Saturday night and it was great. Especially in 3-d! On Sunday we drove home. On Monday, we celebrated New Years Eve. On Tuesday, me, Itamar, and our dad went to Rebounderz together. It was a very fun way to end winter break. I had a great winter break and I will always remember it!

    Elior,
Wow, you had quite a busy and exciting break! I was down in Boca during break too. It is always a nice place to visit. I never knew that there were so many wonderful kosher restaurants there. I will have to check out some of the ones you mentioned the next time I head down there. It must have been incredible to meet someone like Artist Gilmore! Did you get to talk to him, or ask him any questions? What was he like? I’m so glad you got to have that experience. Keep up the great blogging.

I did ask Artis Gilmore if I could have his auto graph but we had to go. Artis Gilmore is a very nice, funny, and kind man. He is also a great basketball player.

That is quite a Winter Break! I’m hungry just reading it! You used lots of good describing words and I like that you included a picture as well.

Now that we are back in school, what’s the next big thing you are looking forward to?

    Keep blogging!
