Summary of the Book

After I have told you all of this information about this book, you should be begging to read this book.  If you aren’t, then after reading this, you will definitely want to.  Around the World in Eighty Days is about a man, Phileas Fogg, and his servant, Passepartout, deciding to embark on a journey around the world.  At the beginning of this book Fogg and his friends are playing a friendly game of whist, and talking about the latest robbery. “‘Well, Ralph,” said Thomas Flanagan, “what about that robbery?” “Oh,” replied Stuart, “the Bank will lose the money.” “On the contrary,” broke in Ralph, “I hope we may put our hands on the robber. Skilful detectives have been sent to all the principal ports of America and the Continent, and he’ll be a clever fellow if he slips through their fingers.” “But have you got the robber’s description?” asked Stuart. “In the first place, he is no robber at all,” returned Ralph, positively. “What! a fellow who makes off with fifty-five thousand pounds, no robber?” “No.” “Perhaps he’s a manufacturer, then.” “The Daily Telegraph says that he is a gentleman.'”  He has to deal with a lot of trouble on this trip, and he saves a woman’s life. He bets a wager, will be win or will he lose?  If you want to find out, read Around the World in Eighty Days!
