This week in math, I learned about reflections. A reflection is when you mirror a shape across a line. You can reflect a shape across the x-axis, the y-axis, and line y=x. For a reflection across the x-axis, change the original coordinate for a point by making the y value negative. It’s the opposite for reflecting a shape across the y-axis. All you would do is make the x value negative. Now, when reflecting a shape across line y=x, you have to flip the x and y coordinates for each point. For example, lets say the original point is (5,2). After it is reflected, it would be (2,5). I hope you learned something.
