In our studies of the הגדה, we have discussed the paragraph known as הא לחמא עניא.  In this paragraph we read

כל דכפין ייתי וייכל

כל דצריך ייתי ויפסח

Let all who are hungry come and eat.

Let all who are in need come and make Pesach.

This message of feeding the hungry and being involved in the community has been an important part of your experience at Martin J Gottlieb Day School. Reflect on the ways in which you have experienced this important Jewish value, and how it has impacted you.

One of the most important mitzvah projects I have done is feeding the hungry. I did a blog post at the beginning of the school year about a project we did over the summer where we made bags of food and gave them to hungry people that we saw. Another example of this type of project is one that we recently did. We planted vegetable plants at an elementary school. Many of the students there are in poverty and the garden will help them a lot. During the holiday times near the end of the year, we gave Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to families who were in need. I always love doing these mitzvah projects and I will always feel proud after completing these.
