Really Rockin’ Reflections on To Kill a Mockingbird

The seventh and eighth graders recently finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  After spending the majority of the third nine weeks on this classic novel,  students turned in detailed notebooks and were assessed on the vocabulary words from the story. Next, the students were given a choice from  variety of  reflection options.  Each student was required to complete one “essay” type reflection while the other option was a more creative choice.  I was so impressed with the amount of effort, thought and time that went into each project.  Students completed CD’s, poems, scrapbooks, monologues, board games, newspaper articles and  more.

In the pictures below, the students are all playing the board games created by their classmates.  Each board game included thought provoking questions relating to the story.
