End of the Year

Sixth Grade

With only a couple of weeks left of school, we are winding down with our curriculum and assignments. The sixth graders have been enjoying our recent read aloud Liar and Spy, which we hope to finish the last week of May.  The students will be working on two more creative writing assignments prior to finishing sixth grade.  Many students have reached their AR goals, and a few are still working towards their goals.  All AR tests need to be completed by May 29.

Seventh Grade

Both seventh grade classes have completed their last novel studies and will be working on two more writing assignments this year.  Group 7A will be writing personal narratives this week, while Group 7B will be working on a culminating project for The Giver. Both classes have worked hard on their preparations for their upcoming Student Led Conferences. A few students are still really behind in reaching their AR goals.  All AR tests need to be completed by May 29.

Eighth Grade

The eighth graders worked on their Student Led Conferences this past week.  This upcoming week, they will be finishing up on a presentation for the incoming sixth graders on the highlights of the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School.  The students worked in pairs to create their own creative piece.  Some of the students focused primarily on the Mitzvah trips, Retreats, or Academics, while others did a broad overview of the Middle School’s best qualities. A few students are still really behind in reaching their AR goals.  All AR tests need to be completed by May 28.
