Classroom Management

In our classroom we have a “Happy Face” chart. Every child is given three happy faces each morning. He/she then has the opportunity to earn more during the day if his/her behavior warrants it. For example, if your child is being kind to a friend, raises his/her hand at the appropriate time, or is being respectful, he/she may receive an extra happy face. However, if he/she exhibits inappropriate behavior during the school day, a happy face is removed.

The incentive chart attached to your child’s folder will indicate how many happy faces your child receives each day. If your child received three happy faces each day and did not lose or gain any that week, he/she would have a total of 15. More than that would be amazing and less than that would be disappointing. Please discuss “happy faces” with your child regularly as they pertain to your child’s behavior in class.
