I am a native of Israel but have lived in the United States for over thirty years. I am known as Morah Liat (morah means teacher). I am a graduate of the University of North Florida. I have been teaching at MJGDS for nineteen years. I also teach Third grade (Gimmel) Jewish Studies at our school and I am the k-5 Jewish Studies Coordinator.
I am married to Blair and have two children – David, a recent graduate of Florida State University, and a daughter, Rachel, a sophomore at University of Florida.
I LOVE teaching your children our Jewish Heritage, values and the Hebrew language in order to develop their Jewish identity.
This will be my twenty-first year of teaching; my sixth year of teaching at MJGDS. I also taught in the Bernard & Alice Selevan Religious School for six years and substituted in various private schools. I am a graduate of Converse College in South Carolina.
My husband, Marc, and I are members of the Jacksonville Jewish Center. Our son, Charlie, graduated from MJGDS in 2005, St. Johns Country Day School in 2009, and Stetson University in 2013. He is employed at Fidelity Investments.
