21st Century Learning Ipads

21st Century Learning Ipads

This week in class we have been using iPads with Mrs. Tolisano.  On the iPads we have been using three apps. The apps are “show me, story kit, and popplet.” “Show me” is an app where you can write or draw and record yourself at the same time. “Popplet” is like inspiration, it is my least favorite of the three. The last app is “story kit”; in story kit you get to find or draw a picture then write about it. Using these three apps we have been divided into groups and we are making a food chain. To make the food chains we have to use one of the three apps. We also each have a different job so we all take part in making it. The jobs are creator, researcher, image finder, and script writer. As a group we decide who gets what job. I am creator. What job do you have? Which app is your group using? Please answer this post.

Jonah used Inspiration to create this comparison of Story Kit and Show Me.

Google Earth

Today we went on the iPads and used Google Earth! Google Earth is an app that lets you explore the world! Want to see China? You can with Google Earth. I actually learned something. Want to know? The St.Johns River does not stop until Orlando! WOW! That’s big! I even saw my own house! You can get it on the computer too and check it out.

Fourth graders were completely engaged during our first IPAD lesson with Mrs.Silvia Tolisano.  The students were able to explore three different applications in preparation for an assignment they will be doing in class.  They were very quick to catch on.  Today they will be creating food webs on the IPADs using one of the three applications that were introduced on Monday.  Their food webs will be from one of three major Florida ecosystems including the Everglades, Florida oceans or Florida rivers.
