This week our class was given the assignment to write a creative story using at least 5 spelling and/or vocabulary words. Each story was unique. I chose Ben’s story as our post of the week. He made a funny story about a thunderstorm and the 4th of July. See below.
The Wackiest Fourth of July “Thunderstorm” Ever
The Wackiest Fourth of July “Thunderstorm” Ever
(Starring Bobby, Joe, Dad and Max the Dog and set in a Fourth of July party)
Bobby, Joe and Dad were setting out the homemade food by the campfire that they have in their backyard. Max tried to distract the boys from eating by pulling on their shoelaces. While that was happening, Dad was setting up the fireworks, and then, it started raining watermelons! The boys took off their sweatshirts and put them over their heads so they wouldn’t get splattered. They took Max upstairsso he would not get hurt chasing after the watermelons. Dad saw a giant vine that had grown onto thehighway and was “raining” down the watermelons. Dad shouted, “There’s a vine on the highway!” through the loudspeaker. Bobby and Joe set off the fireworks, and they destroyed the giant vine. In the meantime, Max had gotten out of the house and eaten some of the watermelons, which gave him astomachache. The boys grabbed their laptops to blog about the wackiest Fourth of July “thunderstorm” ever.
