“What Jo Did”

This week for reading we are doing a story called “What Jo Did”.  ”What Jo Did”                  Is about a girl named Joanna and about how high she can jump. In this book             Joanna is on an errand for her mother when a group of boys stop her and ask                      her to play basketball with them. She then realizes they think she is a boy                   because she has her hat on. At the end of the story the boys figure out she                           is a girl because when she jumps up to dunk a ball her hat falls off. When                     the boys first realize Jo is a girl how did they act? Will they want her to play                   with them again?

    Well, I’ve read the book in class like everyone else, so I’ll give the answers.

    At first, the boys were a little embarrassed that they lost a game playing against a girl.

    Then, they thought ” she is very good” and they wanted to have a challenge.
