Let My People Go

Dear Pharoah,                                                                                    March  30,  1400 BCE

My name is Meriam, and I am a Jewish slave who works in the palace.  I  work in the kitchen 15 hours a day preparing your meals. I would like for you to let the Jewish people leave Egypt. I feel that you are very mean to my people. It is not right that we are slaves and work so hard. We want to leave this country  and move to  Israel so we can live free. Would you consider my request and let us leave next week? It will take us at least a week to get our belongings together. Please write me back as soon as possible.

Your Trustworthy Slave,

Meriam Rogozinski
