Happy March ! I cannot believe that it is March already! Where did the time go? Please do not forget to study for spelling and Wordly Wise tomorrow. In case, you forgot your books, all the words are listed on the third grade blog. What would you do if Icarus (the boy from the story Wings) came to our classroom to be a new third grader? What would you to make him feel welcome in our class? I hope that you liked our “compliment” activity today. Can you guess what your classmates said about you?

If Icarus came to our class I would say hi. To make him feel welcome, I would play with him on the playground. I hope that my friends say I’m nice.
I have no idea where the time went. What I would do if Icarus came to our class is I would be very kind and friendly to him. I would make him feel welcome by asking him to sit next to me at lunch. I would guess that people would write this about me:
1. I am creative
2. I love reading
3. I am kind and friendly
4. I am helpful
5. I have a great sense of humor
Dear Jasmine, I think your classmates would say that you are all that you mentioned. I also think you are a very talented writer!
I would be happy if carus came to be a new third grader in our class. I would try to make him feel welcome. I think my classmates said that I am a helpful student. I did like our positive comments activity. I think we should do these every year!
I think that if Icaurs came to our class I think all the kids would be croding around him and asking qustions. I have no idea of what they said about me.
I would sit next to him at lunch. To make him feel welcome.
I don’t know what I would do if Icarus was a new student in Seminole Swamp. I am usually shy with new kids but I would try my best to welcome him. A lot of other classmates will welcome him and would make him fell comfortable in class.
I think my classmates think that I am smart, I love legos, I talk a lot, I am helpful, and I am creative.
Ben, I never knew you to be shy! Yes, you do talk a lot! I do agree with everything else that you said!
To make Icarus feel welcome, I would introduce him to my friends.
If Ikarus came to our classroom I would not bully him and would be nice. I would introduce him to people, take him on a tour and make sure he was included in what we play at recess.
I disliked the “compliment” thing.
Why did you dislike it? I love your answer about Icarus!
I think Icares is cool and would welcome him. I think classmates said I was funny.
If icarus was in our class I would say “Welcome to our class, You are welcomed to sit where ever you want”
I am not sure what my classmates will say about me.
If Icarus was going to our classroom I would say ” Welcome to Seminole Swamp, this will be a great classroom for you!” I would tell him what we do and how to. I wouldn’t be mean because if he looked awkward, I would not be mean to him and you should be nice to the students that are new. I think my classmates said: I’m good at cursive and manuscript, nice, good at sports, creative, and helpful.
P.S. The compliment thing was a little confusing for me.
