Do you remember learning your multiplication tables? What grade were you in? Who was your teacher? How did you remember all those facts? Today, there are so many games on the computer for your student to play. You can also call them out and use flashcards. Does anyone have any other suggestions? In our classroom we play multiplication bingo and the kids love it. My other suggestion is when you are driving to school call the facts out and that way it will keep you off your cell phone! Let’s share some suggestions!

I still don’t know my multiplication tables . . . . (just kidding!)
Jeff here….
Where do I begin? It was fairly typical, really…. I was nine. My parents were of typical Jewish stock… Relentlessly reminding me of my need for success. When the time came for my Zoroastrian tutor to impart to me the multiplication tables, I was a complete and utter failure. Despite hours and hours of looking at them, repeating them out loud, tracing them on the dirt floor of my basement dungeon, I was unable to learn them. Despite facing the usual punishment of being rolled in shmaltz, coated in chicken feathers, and pelted with hard matzoh balls, I could not find success with multiplication.
As a consequence, I was sent to boarding school in Rangoon. There, I redoubled my efforts as we were only allowed to partake of our rations when we learned them. I remember the pride I had when I had mastered the four times tables… This was cause for great celebration as they allowed me to eat meat with my bread and water.
Unfortunately, the fives did not come as easily and I missed my pet rat, Scoochi, who mysteriously disappeared on the day of my crowning achievement with the fours. Once, after 10 hours of practice, I questioned the need for learning them… The utility of the “fives” in the outside world. As a consequence of my insolence I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds… Pretty standard for such an infraction. Much of the rest of those years are a blur. I was later dismissed from my preparatory school and told to find my own way home… I live with these scars to this day, but I am grateful you gave me this forum to open up and that you are ensuring that Becca does not suffer on the same path as I.
I know my multiplecation tables. I was in Kindergarden. I had two teachers Ms. Rosen Doll, and Ms. Yegglewell. I memerice them. My suggestion is you can multiplecation bingo.
Pertend to teatch your pets multiplication tables.
Write your multiplication tables over and over in till you rember yuor multiplication tables.
Watch vidoes on line.
Read book about multiplication tables.
Make multiplcation storys.
Do you also know that it is quite known for a poor reader to practice reading to their pets? I kid you not!
I am trying to remember but those memories are so so long ago! I do remember getting into trouble for talking! Imagine that!
I recall I had a pen with multiplication tables up to 12 on it. I wish I still had it but I gave it away many many years ago!
One idea is writing down the multiplication tables. I think we did this in order to learn them.

Kandi, talking in class? Are you kidding?
