Just like the Jewish Studies Teachers, we also had a wonderfully productive second week of second grade! This week, we read an exciting story called “Exploring Space,” and had several in-depth conversations about astronauts (and their great knowledge of math & science); the universe; and facts about other planets! Integrated into our reading classes were lessons on spelling, phonics, vocabulary, and the subjects of sentences. The students also took reading and mathematics assessments to help us begin to determine their ability levels, strengths, and areas of needed improvement.
