ישראל Yisrael!!!   We’re so glad that you’re here!!!

אריאות  Ariyot  Soon we will be learning all about our new letter

ר  Resh!!     With words like:

רוח קרה   ruach karah    a cold wind

אדון גורילה adon gorilla    Mr. gorilla

גברת גורילה  geveret gorilla  Mrs. gorilla

רעש   ra-ash  noise

רצים  ratzim   runs for many

גר   gar    lives for a boy

גרה   garah   lives for a girl

גרים  garim  live for many

רוקד  roked  dances for a boy

And of course….

רחל   Rachel    (this happens to be my favorite letter!!!)

פרשת השבוע ויקרא   Parshat HaShavua   Vayikra    The portion of the week  and the next book in the Torah is Vayikra.

ספר חדש בתורה   Sefer  Chadash baTorah   A New Book of the Torah Yes, we have begun Leviticus!!!

איזה חדש עכשו  Aizeh Chodesh Achshav???   What month is it?

ניסן  Nisan    Happy Rosh Chodesh and Happy Spring!!

פסח  Pesach is keeping us busy!!! We are singing and learning and cleaning!!

באביב באביב  Ba’Aviv, Ba’Aviv   In spring

הכל ירוק ירוק סביב  HaKol Yaroke, yaroke saviv  Everything’s green!

סדר Seder means order and we have a definite order to our Model Seder.  Each student has many parts and we will “show off” at our Model Seder on April 3rd and 1:30 PM.  Mark your calendars!!!

תפילות  Tefilot Prayers  On Thursdays, with Hazzan Holzer we take out the

תורה Torah and do a whole Torah Service with the

חזן  Hazzan .  When we are called up to the Torah , we need to know our Hebrew names and the Hebrew names of our parents.  Please make sure that your child knows your Hebrew names!!

שם Shem    NAME!!!

Three more of our students had the pleasure of reading to 3rd grade the wonderful books that they wrote and illustrated themselves.  Thanks to Morah Rivka O. and Morah Liat for letting this all happen.
